Turfloop Lutheran Youth League congradulates you for taking a step in the right direction and further invites you to the house of the Lord

Why was the youth league established?

As members of Turfloop Lutheran Church Congregation, Youth League contributes and takes part in all the activities of the church in order to develop leardership qualities and grow in responsibility within families and the community .thus ,this youth leaque was established to strive for values of peace, justice, freedom and righteousness as embodied in the kingdom of god

What are our objectives?

The main objective of the league is to empower and develop the standard and quality of living in our communities, to contribute to the upliftment of the moral and spiritual values and development and to provide guidance that will help our youth to face future challenges with confidence. This is in line with our plan of broadening accountability and community support base, building organizational integrity maximizing efficiency and strategic management capabilities of leadership

Who can join?

We invite all young people from 12 years of age and upwards including those in the confirmation or baptismal classes and after serving a period of 6 months new members shall be installed by the pastor

How much is the affiliation fee?

In order to execute our activities properly, we contribute a small annual fee of R25

How do we dress?

We have established a grey & white t-shirt with the church emblem but maintain the official uniform of black skirts/trousers & white shirts especially during Holy Communion. However in other informal gathering, any presentable outlook is accepted

When do we meet?

We meet regularly every Friday from 15hoo-17h30 and Teasday from 17hoo-18h00 at Turfloop Lutheran Church located at Zone 1 Mankweng next to Tintis spar .The Sunday service start at 09hoo in the morning and Holy Communion is observed on the second Sunday of each month

What do we do on Tuesday and Friday?
Here are few of the many activities we do:

¨ Social debate
¨ Bible discussions
¨ Musical presentation(gospel, choral ,hymns, folksongs)
¨ Indoor & out door games
¨ Preparation for special occasions
¨ Talent searches
¨ Sporting activities
¨ Motivational talks
¨ Conduct prayer sessions

What have we achieved so far?

¨ Groomed a lot of youth into respectable leaders & responsible community members
¨ Injected life in other youth leaques within and outside our parish
¨ Traveled to other countries like Botswana, Swaziland
¨ We won more that 80 trophies during choral presentations within and outside the country
¨ Established a monthly news letter
¨ Established a healthy working relationship with other churches within mankweng area
¨ One of our members served in the National SACC youth forum as Chairperson
¨ Many of our youth members have been to different countries around the world such as ,France ,Germany, Lesotho, Canada, USA, Zimbabwe, Holland just to name the few
¨ Many of our previous and present youth leaque members are graduates of the University of the North (Limpopo) and they are prospering in their own fields
¨ Our choir is one of the well known choirs in Limpopo and the best ever choir nationally in the middle section category of ELCSAMO
